How we’re working under Covid-19 Alert Levels

Covid-19 Alert Level 1

How are we operating under Alert Level 1?

Under Alert Level 1 it’s largely business as usual in the Home Transfer Centre offices. We are offering all clients the option to meet with us virtually, either by phone or video call if you would prefer not to meet in person for any reason.

We ask that if you are unwell to please stay home and opt to either reschedule or meet with us via a virtual appointment.

How does Alert Level 1 impact my sale or purchase?

Alert Level 1 will not impact your sale or purchase – your settlement date will not change and you can move in or out as you intend to, utilising moving companies as you require.

Covid-19 Alert Level 2

How are we operating under Alert Level 2?

Under Alert Level 2, our offices remain open with our staff practicing social distancing whilst working. We can meet with you in the office but we encourage our clients to opt for a virtual appointment where possible to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.

We ask that if you are unwell to please stay home and opt to either reschedule or meet with us via a virtual appointment.

How does Alert Level 2 impact my sale or purchase?

Alert Level 2 will not impact your sale or purchase – your settlement date will not change and you can move in or out as you intend to, utilising moving companies as you require.

Covid-19 Alert Level 3

How are we operating under Alert Level 3?

Under Alert Level 3 our offices are closed but as our system is cloud based, our staff are working as normal from home. We can’t meet with you in person however all clients are able to meet virtually via phone or video call.

How does Alert Level 3 impact my sale or purchase?

Alert Level 3 should not impact your sale or purchase – your settlement date should remain unchanged and you should be able to move in as you intend to, utilising moving companies as you require.

Your Home Transfer Centre contact will let you know if your settlement is impacted by Alert Level 3 restrictions and we recommend checking with your moving company that they are continuing to operate.

Covid-19 Alert Level 4

How are we operating under Alert Level 4?

Under Alert Level 3 our offices are closed but as our system is cloud based, our staff are working as normal from home. We can’t meet with you in person however all clients are able to meet virtually via phone or video call.

How does Alert Level 4 impact my sale or purchase?

Under Alert Level 4, your sale and/or purchase is likely to be delayed as there are restrictions in place which prevent people from moving.

If you have a settlement date that falls or is likely to fall during Alert Level 4 we advise you not to panic – we will be in touch to confirm with you how you would like to proceed. We will then get in touch with your seller and/or purchaser to make the necessary arrangements.

Our recommendation is to delay settlement until 10 working days after we have moved to Alert Level 3. This allows both parties enough time to arrange their movers and transfer of utilities. Your Home Transfer Centre contact will be in touch with you to discuss the best way forward and will guide you through the process.
